Active Reading
As we can see, there is a strange reproductive issue affecting the town of East Valley, Ohio. It could possibly be linked to the chemicals released during the train derailment. In order to figure out what the issue could be, we first have to investigate how the female and male reproduction system works.
Step 1) Actively read the article.
Step 2) Write THREE (3) Annotations as you read:
A) ONE (1) Connection to Life, Self, Books, Class, Movies etc
B) ONE (1) Question you have
C) ONE (1) Main Idea Summarized
Step 3) After you have read and annotated, complete the search or unseen question assigned.

Key Concepts 🔑
The ovaries produce and release eggs and hormones like estrogen and progesterone.
The oviducts (fallopian tubes) transport the egg from the ovary to the uterus and are the site of fertilization.
Fertilization occurs when a sperm cell fuses with an egg, forming a zygote.
The uterus is a muscular organ where a fertilized egg can implant and develop.
